Before the Nationwide celebration of Democracy Day tomorrow. Let’s quickly remind you of some of the events that lead to the declaration of June 12th as Democracy Day.
For the younger generation, the man portrayed in this picture won the presidential election held on the 12th of June 1993 but never ruled till his eventual death on the 7th of July 1998. He was and still a National Symbol of Democracy. Hence the declaration of June 12th as a National Public Holiday.
