What is a business? A business is any activity or activities that one engages in to make profit. It is a set of activities that requires resources e.g. Time, Energy, Money, Knowledge etc. put into use for making profit.
Every business require a prerequisite (something that must exist or happen before something else is possible) skill, knowledge or technical know-how for it to be profitable. Most businesses are usually service oriented or product oriented or a combination of both.
I will like to make beads in the next six months. Bead making as necklaces, bangles, earrings, ankle bracelets and on clothing is my passion. I have seen a lot of people sewn beads on their clothes and I have always known within me that I can do better. Our local beads can be sold locally or exported abroad. This will generate a lot of income for me and my country.
Bead making is service/product oriented business that requires me to buy the materials from the market, work on it to produce a finish product and display it in my mum’s shop or give it to some of my aunts to sell them for me.
I intend starting the business by saving part of the pocket money given to me by my parents and money given to me by visitors and relatives. I will do this for a period of five months with the hope that I would have saved money sufficient to buy my materials.
The materials I need are beads, stoppers, hooks, fishing line and needle for completing the products (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and bangle). I will display them in a show glass in my mum’s shop.
I will also approach my mum’s tailors and other tailors around to engrave some of my bead designs on some of their sewn clothes for marketing purposes.
In a few months, I would have had some customers/clients I would be working for. I will gradually expand the business when my customer base increases.
This is how I intend to start my business and earn my profits in the next six months. I hope you patronize my business. Thank you!
